Malibu Jack’s Becomes Bluegrass State Games Title Sponsor

LEXINGTON – The Bluegrass Sports Commission (BSC) announced today that indoor theme park operator Malibu Jack’s has agreed to become the official title sponsor of the Bluegrass State Games. Celebrating its 34th year, the Malibu Jack’s Bluegrass State Games were created in 1985 by Governor Martha Layne Collins to promote healthy lifestyles through athletic competition. The inaugural Bluegrass State Games consisted of six sports: bowling, equestrian events, soccer, tennis and track and field. Since then, the Games have grown to encompass over 40 sports and 14,000 participants. The Malibu Jack’s Bluegrass State Games are one of the oldest and largest State Games in the country.

“We’re proud to announce a partnership with Malibu Jack’s. This partnership ensures that the State Games remain an affordable option for youth and amateur athletes,” said BSC President & CEO Brian Miller. “Malibu Jack’s will host our bowling and miniature golf events and serve as a destination for the thousands of families who visit Lexington each summer to compete in the State Games. The team at Malibu Jack’s encompasses the family values of the State Games and has a keen interest in supporting Kentucky families.”

Malibu Jack’s is Kentucky’s largest indoor theme park, with locations in Lexington and Louisville featuring GoKarts, miniature golf, laser tag, and more. A new location featuring a full bowling alley, hospitality cabanas, and upgraded food and beverage options is scheduled to open summer of 2018. The Bluegrass State Games takes place primarily throughout the months of June, July, and August. Registration is currently open at www.bgsg.org.
